The Community Advice Office provides help and support to the residents of Westlake on anything from dealing with government institutions through to help writing CVs and getting a job. The team also manages the premises and bookings can be made through them for the use of the hall by residents, churches and other non profit organisations servicing the community.
Employment services are of utmost importance and in 2012, the team registered 280 people on the City of Cape Town’s Sub Council 20 database for employment, as well as typing 137 CVs and helping 180 people find employment.
The team runs the WUCT 2nd hand shop which helps children and adults in need of clothing and household goods, whilst also providing a revenue stream for the organisation (if you would like to donate in kind, please click here).
This office is responsible for the Computer Training Room where we run computer literacy lessons.
Lastly the office manages the Community Hall and other rooms available for hire. If you are interested in renting any of our amenities, please email us. For the schedule of events currently running please contact the Advice Office.
