WUCT took part in MSAT South’s World Aids Day event outside the Shoprite Centre in Steenberg on 1 December, together with six other NGO’s and City if Cape Town health directorate. It was very successful with 150 people queuing up to be tested for HIV by Living Hope staff in 4 tents. Three members of our Home Based Care team – Veronica, Tembeka and Nancy – were kept busy monitoring over 100 Blood Pressures and blood sugar levels. There was entertainment in the form of line dancing by EMBRACE, a woman’s group from Parkwood Estate, and Living Hope’s life skills team put on Pick a Box game with prizes handed out to lucky winners!
We handed out goodie bags to people who were tested. These contained toiletries kindly donated by Jill van Wyk in Dubai, as well as Joyce Meyer magazines, also donated to us for the event. Thank you SO much, Jill and Joyce Meyer Ministries! Your contribution to this event is greatly appreciated!
