Emmanuel Educare Graduation Ceremony 2014

21 Nov

The Emmanuel Educare pre-school, which is run under the auspices of the Westlake United Church Trust, held it’s annual Graduation Ceremony on Thursday 20 November in the Westlake Community Hall.  This year the Graduation Ceremony was a separate event (usually it is held together with the Nativity Play).  The event was very well attended, with all parents of the 65 Grade R learners receiving invitations to the event.

Each Grade R learner received an achievement certificate.  Certificates were handed out by Beulah Matthyse (the 2013 Governing Body Chairperson), and Mr Harold Stemmet from Time and Labour consultants (who handle all WUCT HR related issues).

After certificates were handed out, two of the children thanked Emmanuel Educare, and this was followed by a dance by the Grade R boys (“We all stand together”).  After that, the Grade R girls put on a dazzling performance (“Celebration”), followed by a grand finale of “Time to say Goodbye”.

Teacher Hazel Albertus thanked all present on behalf of herself and Teacher Val Arendse, and the Principal, Mrs Eleanor Lawrence also addressed the crowd, telling them of some of the things in store for 2015.

Some photographs of the event are included below.
