Westlake United Church Trust joins with Westlake Community Foundation, the residents of Westlake Village and Councillor Penny East to plant South Africa’s protected Milkwood to honour Mandela.

“…the only [other] thing my father bestowed upon me at birth was a name, Rolihlahla. In Xhosa, Rolihlahla literally means ‘pulling the branch of a tree’, but its colloquial meaning more accurately would be ‘troublemaker’.”
Nelson Mandela, Long Walk To Freedom, 1994.

May we see the tree grow and be able to pull its branches for hundreds of years to come!  And may the ‘troublemakers’ of Westlake Village become the future leaders of our united country!
