11 Jul

We are running a holiday programme in the AOG Church in Westlake for the week Mon-Fri, 9-13 July ’12. On Day 1, 86 children made crafts/paper mache hats, etc and enjoyed Hot Dogs. Day 2, was team building games such as balloon volley ball, egg and spoon races, tug of war, etc and 92 children were given soup and rolls. Day 3’s theme was ‘Respect our Environment’ and over 50 children went out into the community with black bags and did a clean up. This was followed by a skit on respecting oneself, each other and the environment, followed by a plate of samp, bones and rice.

Days 4 and 5 continued with the Respect theme – Respect yourself (there was a washing corner), Respect other cultures (everyone dressed up in their various cultural outfits), Respect animals (take care for them and feed them, etc) and Respect the Environment (don’t throw litter). Well done, Benita and team for organising a successful program – it was enjoyed by all!
