Shoe drop at Emmanuel Educare

19 May

19 May 2011.

The Bobs for Good Foundation & Reddam House (Constantia) students did a “shoe drop” at the Emmanuel Educare pre-school at which 110 children each received a brand new pair of school shoes.  A similar function was held earlier in the day at the new Westlake Primary School.

The funding for the shoes was raised by students at Reddam House School, Constantia, and a number of the students were present to fit each child with their new shoes.

The gathering in the Community Hall was addressed by Dave Barnes (Manager: WUCT) and Matt Botha (Events Manager, Bobs for Good Foundation).  Dave Barnes quoted Nelson Mandela who said “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”

The Bobs for Good Foundation was founded by former Springbok captain, Bob Skinstad, and his friend, Ron Rutland. The foundation employs a dynamic team of changemakers who work with like-minded partners and private donors to ensure that South Africa’s neediest children will one day walk tall in a brand new pair of quality leather school shoes donated by the foundation.  To read more about the foundation, visit www.bobsforgoodfoundation.org.
