Adult Basic Education and Training

We are thrilled to announce that our Adult Basic Education and Training classes have started again. Our facilitators are all trained by Maryland Literacy Centre and they teach basic literacy and numeracy, as well as English. We now have a Wednesday evening class from 5.30pm-7.00pm, as well as the regular Friday morning classes.

Masivuke Organic Food Garden

The Masivuke organic food garden run by Linah and other women from the community is now supplying the local restaurant with fresh lettuce everyday. Here is a photo of her grandchild, Seko, in the garden!

New van for Emmanuel Educare

Our Principal, Mrs Eleanor Lawrence, has a new van for our pre-school Emmanuel Educare. It was bought with funds raised at a concert called Seven Days of Creation, performed by Emmanuel Educare children and Reddam School, as well as a donation from Willow Creek Church in the USA.

Home Based Care Program

Our carers each received a supermarket voucher as a gift of appreciation from one of our funders, Willow Creek, for the wonderful work they have been doing! Here is a photo. (We have 7 home based carers, including a full-time community healthcare worker, and a nurse who co-ordinates the program, as well as 4 relief workers). 4 of our carers are attending the Ancillary Health Care training course, an acredited course run by the Adult Learning Network in conjunction with the Government’s Expanded Public Works Program.
